Lekjaa presents a decree to open additional credits amounting to 14 billion dirhams.

The government has decided to open additional credits amounting to 14 billion dirhams for the general budget for the current year. The Finance Committee of the House of Representatives held a meeting this Monday evening dedicated to the presentation of this decree.

The Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaa, explained in a presentation to the committee that 6.5 billion dirhams will be allocated to cover the cost of social dialogue, and 4 billion dirhams will be intended to support the National Office of electricity and drinking water, in order to maintain electricity and water prices which will not see any increase this year. An amount of 3.5 billion dirhams will also be allocated to support the national airline Royal Air Maroc (RAM).

Lekjaa indicated that these financial margins will be provided by tax revenues, which increased by more than 14 billion dirhams. He specified that 46% of the forecasts in the finance law were achieved in five months, mentioning the broadening of the tax base to increase revenues in the months to come.
