Baitas: “Significant investment dynamics since the entry into force of the new Investment Charter”

Investment in Morocco has experienced significant momentum since the entry into force of the new Investment Charter, said Thursday in Rabat, the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, government spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas.
In response to a question on the government strategy relating to the implementation of the Investment Charter, during a press briefing following the Governing Council, Baitas noted that the mechanisms established by the Investment Charter investment aid in remote areas have started to bear fruit, noting that investment development is no longer the preserve of certain areas.
The investment project continues thanks to constant efforts to achieve the expected objectives, he continued, noting significant investments which will have a positive impact on the area of employment, which depends on various factors, primarily the business climate, public policies and the capacity of strategic sectors to offer employment opportunities.
In this sense, he recalled the signing this Thursday of a strategic investment agreement worth 12.8 billion dirhams, relating to the creation of a complete industrial ecosystem for the manufacturing of electric batteries in Kenitra, which will enable the creation of 17,000 direct, indirect and induced jobs, including 2,300 with high qualifications.
In accordance with the High Guidelines of King Mohammed VI, Morocco has become an attractive destination for investments thanks to its commitment to modernizing the legal arsenal relating to investment and improving the business climate in general. through the simplification of procedures, he said, specifying that these legal texts will be consolidated by the law relating to the reform of regional investment centers.
According to him, placing the employment issue as a priority for the rest of the government mandate is dictated in particular by the current situation, in particular the succession of years of drought which have affected certain sectors, notably agriculture, which requires pay particular attention to this issue at the public policy level.
