CAN Morocco-2025 qualifiers: Draw on July 4 in Johannesburg

The draw for the qualifying playoffs for the 35th edition of the African Cup of Nations (CAN-2025), organized in Morocco, will take place on July 4 in Johannesburg, announces the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The race towards CAN-2025 in Morocco will be officially launched on Thursday July 4, 2024 with the draw for the qualifiers, from 2:30 p.m. in Johannesburg (12:30 p.m. GMT), CAF indicates Thursday on its website.

In total, 48 nations, including the four winners of the preliminary round (Chad, Eswatini, Liberia and South Sudan) will be divided into 12 groups of four teams, it is reported.

The start of the Morocco-2025 CAN qualifiers is scheduled for next September. Only 23 teams will qualify for CAN-2025 to join Morocco, automatically qualified as host country, specifies the press release.
