The road between the cities of Merritt and Azrou last weekend witnessed a serious traffic accident after a light car with a newlywed couple on board overturned, in a scene that raised the alarm of local authorities and medical interests.
According to the available data, the driver of the car was surprised by the existence of repair workshops on the road that were not sufficiently paved or indicating the existence of works, which led to his loss of control of the car, to deviate from the track and turn off the roadside.
The incident left the newlyweds with injuries described as “of varying severity”, as they were urgently transferred to the regional hospital in Azro to receive the necessary treatments.
Medical sources confirmed that their health condition is stable and not a cause for concern, while the competent authorities opened an investigation to uncover the circumstances of the incident.
