Signature of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco and the African Development Bank relating to the organization in Morocco of the 2023 edition of the Africa Investment Forum

Mrs. Nadia FETTAH, Minister of Economy and Finance, proceeded, jointly with Mr. Vincent O. NMEHIELLE, Secretary General of the African Development Bank (AfDB), to the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding relating to the organization in Morocco for the 4th edition of the Africa Investment Forum (“Africa Investment Forum” – AIF), scheduled for November 8 to 10, 2023, in Marrakech.
The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Ms. Chinelo ANOHU, Principal Director of
the AIF at the ADB, and Ms. Faouzia Zaaboul, Director of Treasury and External Finance at
Ministry of Economy and Finance.
On this occasion, Ms. FETTAH underlined that the choice of Morocco to host the 4th edition of the AIF reflects the excellence of the cooperative relations between the Kingdom and the ADB and confirms the position of our country as a privileged destination to host the major international events.
The Minister of Economy and Finance recalled, in this regard, that the AIF constitutes an appropriate platform to encourage investments in Africa and mobilize financing for development projects in priority areas for the African continent, emphasizing that this
event will be, for Morocco, an opportunity to present a set of investment projects
promising projects which are part of the development dynamic of our country, under
the impulse of the High Guidance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God help him.
For his part, Mr. NMEHIELLE thanked the Moroccan authorities for the commitment they have
demonstrated in favor of the organization of the AIF, while welcoming the spirit of cooperation which prevailed
between representatives of the Moroccan Government and ADB delegates during the meetings
preparation of the aforementioned Memorandum of Understanding.
The Secretary General of the ADB also underlined the relevance of the choice of Morocco to host this continental meeting in view of its economic assets and investment opportunities.

The Africa Investment Forum, created by the AfDB in 2018, is a platform for exchange between investors, experts and decision-makers from the public and private sectors on the initiatives to be put in place to advance investment projects at bankable stages, raise capital and accelerate the financial close of transactions. These objectives are pursued through reducing intermediation costs, improving the quality of information and documentation on projects and strengthening commitments between investors and project promoters.
