Forest fires: “medium” to “extreme” risk, from June 22 to 24 in several provinces

The National Water and Forests Agency (ANEF) predicts a “medium” to “extreme” risk of forest fires in several provinces of the Kingdom during the period from June 22 to 24.

After analyzing data relating in particular to the types of forests and their levels of combustibility and flammability as well as topoclimatic parameters, ANEF identified an extreme risk (red level) in the provinces of Tangier-Assilah, Fahs-Anjra , Nador, Taza, Khénifra, Larache, Taounate, Berkane, Al Haouz and Essaouira, indicates the Agency in a press release.

ANEF specifies that the risk is particularly high (orange level) in the provinces of Tétouan, Mdiq-Fnideq, Chefchaouen, Taroudant, Béni Mellal, Khémisset, Taourirt and Oujda-Angad.

In addition, it noted a medium risk (yellow level) in the provinces of Al Hoceima, Kénitra, Sidi Slimane and Agadir-Ida-Outanane.

The Agency invites forest residents and all summer residents and visitors, as well as people working in forest areas, to be vigilant and take the necessary precautions to avoid the outbreak of forest fires. She also calls on them to quickly alert local authorities in the event of observing smoke or suspicious behavior.

In order to anticipate the problem of forest fires in our country, ANEF produces, on a daily basis and through its scientific prediction models, maps which precisely identify risk areas across the entire country. National territory.
