HIBAPRESS – Casablanca
The Casablanca court issued a verdict today, Tuesday, sentencing a young man to one year in prison after he was involved in hacking the electronic advertising boards for the African Cup and publishing an offensive message on them.
The detained young man was accused of insulting public officials, illegally accessing an information system, and causing a malfunction in it, according to what the public prosecutor at the Ain Sebaa Criminal Court of First Instance announced. The incident occurred days after the promotional boards for the African Cup were hacked and obscene words were published on them, within the context of protests by the youth of the economic capital within the "Generation Z" movement, which attracted the attention of the authorities and led to the judicial follow-up of the young man.
