HIBAPRESS – Abdellatif Elbaz
The Guelmim-Oued Noun region has witnessed a noticeable security dynamic since Major Colonel Khalid Sasaoui took command of the regional command of the Royal Gendarmerie, where gendarmerie elements have succeeded in carrying out a series of qualitative security operations, mainly concerning the fight against illegal immigration, international drug trafficking, and organized crime.
During the past months, the units of the Gendarmerie managed to thwart dozens of smuggling attempts, arrest a large number of those involved, and seize huge quantities of drugs and equipment used in illegal immigration, which contributed to enhancing the sense of security among citizens.
Civil society actors and the residents of the region have expressed their great satisfaction with the achieved results, praising the proactive approach adopted by Major Colonel Sasaoui, and the continuous field presence of the gendarmerie elements, which reflects a clear commitment to combating all forms of crime.
These interventions come within the framework of a security approach that relies on efficiency, proximity to the citizen, and continuous coordination with the rest of the local authorities, which has made the Guelmim region a model to be emulated in the field of managing security affairs.
