HIBAPRESS – Rabat
Algerian media personality and activist, Walid Kabir, commented on the Saudi mediation to resolve the dispute between Morocco and Algeria.
Kabir said in an interview with HIBAPRESS: "In less than 24 hours, the ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was received by the Algerian President and handed him a written message, then His Majesty King Mohammed VI received the grandson of King Fahd bin Abdulaziz the following day and conveyed his verbal message." Kabir added, "We hope that the Saudi Crown Prince succeeds in what his uncle, King Fahd bin Abdulaziz, succeeded in when he brought together the late King Hassan II and Benjedid on the borders, which was the starting point for the return of relations between the two countries," considering that Saudi Arabia always seeks good and has exerted pressure on the Algerian regime several times to resolve the dispute. The same speaker stressed that Morocco does not object to resolving the dispute and opening the door to dialogue more than once, adding that "the brothers in Saudi Arabia know that the Algerian regime does not have the courage to solve this problem, and what we hope is that this pressure will continue to force this regime to change or make solutions gradually," according to his expression.
