HIBAPRESS – Oujda
The city of Oujda witnessed, on Friday evening, a solemn national atmosphere, as crowds of citizens took to the streets and public squares to celebrate and express pride and honor in the historic resolution of the UN Security Council regarding the Moroccan Sahara.
Following the adoption of UN resolution number 2797, which recognizes Morocco's autonomy initiative as the sole and realistic solution to the artificial conflict over the Moroccan Sahara, the August 16th square and Mohammed V street were filled with enthusiasm, as crowds of citizens of all ages converged in a national moment embodying unity and cohesion between the Throne and the people. During these celebrations, pictures of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and national flags were raised, while the squares were filled with the sounds of national songs and ululations, in a scene that reflects national pride in the diplomatic achievement that strengthens Morocco's position on the international stage.
