Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, confirmed today in an interview on the second channel that Russia had committed not to use its veto during the vote on the UN Security Council resolution regarding the Moroccan Sahara.
Bourita explained that the wise stance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI on the Russian-Ukrainian war contributed to strengthening Russia's respect for the Kingdom, in addition to the great appreciation that the King enjoys with Russian President Vladimir Putin since His Majesty's historic visit to Moscow. The Minister pointed out that Russia, despite its positions sometimes opposing the decisions issued by the United States as the penholder, respected the King's position and the wisdom of the Kingdom of Morocco, stressing that this respect led to ensuring that the veto was not used during the vote on the historic Security Council resolution. This confirmation comes as part of a series of diplomatic successes achieved by Morocco in the Moroccan Sahara file, which reflects the wisdom of King Mohammed VI and his ability to balance between various international powers to achieve the Kingdom's interests.
