The Minister of Health, Amin Tahraoui, explained during a meeting on Channel 1 on Wednesday evening that the territorial health groups aim to integrate university, regional, and provincial hospitals with primary health centers within a unified regional system, which facilitates local management and enhances efficiency in providing health services to citizens.
The Minister affirmed that this new structuring represents a strategic step to unify efforts and improve the quality of healthcare at the national level. The Minister pointed to the experience of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region as a successful model for implementing this system, where more than 8,000 healthcare professionals and employees were integrated under one management, relying on a unified information platform to facilitate the treatment path and data exchange between institutions. He added that the reform of the Moroccan health system comes within the framework of a comprehensive royal vision that began in 2020, which includes improving infrastructure, raising the quality of medical services, strengthening human resources, and developing digitalization in health institutions. Amin Tahraoui explained that the importance of these reforms lies in ensuring that all citizens have rapid access to medical services and reducing regional disparities in the quality of healthcare, noting that the emergency program targets a large number of hospitals and primary health centers to rehabilitate and improve their equipment, thereby consolidating health equity and ensuring equal benefit for all citizens.
