Among them a civil servant… Hajj visas lead to the arrest of 3 people in Marrakech and Fez

The elements of the Regional Brigade of Judicial Police of Marrakech, in coordination with their counterparts in Fez, succeeded, on the basis of precise data provided by the General Directorate of National Territorial Surveillance, on Monday and Tuesday, July 1 and 2, in arresting three people, including a woman and a public official, suspected of involvement in a case of fraud and swindling.

The suspects had defrauded several victims by pretending to intervene on their behalf to obtain exceptional visas to perform the Hajj rites in the holy places, the investigations and investigations carried out in coordination with the police services of the cities of Marrakech and Fez made it possible to identify the suspects and arrest them.

The search operation carried out in connection with this case resulted in the seizure of cheque books, copies of identification documents and passports in the name of others, as well as a sum of money, bank deposit receipts and cash transfers suspected of being the proceeds of this criminal activity, coloured papers the size of bank notes suspected of being used in fraud and swindling operations were also found in the possession of the suspects.

The suspects were subjected to a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office in order to uncover all the circumstances, motives and background of this case, as well as to identify all criminal activities attributed to the persons concerned.
