A Moroccan citizen recounted the details of a moving story caused by his addiction to alcohol, after this led to a fatal traffic accident in Tangier in 2019, which caused the death of his wife and his two daughters, who were seventeen and thirteen years old.
The citizen, who lived for many years in France, said in an interview with the "HIBAPRESS" website that he was driving his car while under the influence of alcohol after a family dinner at a hotel in the city, before losing control and crashing into a parked truck.
The speaker explained that his wife tried to prevent him from bringing bottles of alcohol into the car, but he insisted on that, claiming to have long experience in driving, adding that he had not slept for three days before the accident.
The collision resulted in the death of the wife and her two daughters, aged 17 and 13, respectively, at the scene, while he survived after suffering serious injuries, after which he underwent surgeries that ended with the amputation of one of his legs.
The citizen explained that he lived in difficult social conditions after the accident, as he found himself without any support, and spent twenty months on the street, waiting for an intervention to help him overcome the repercussions of the tragedy that still marks his life.
