HIBAPRESS – Rabat
The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, said during his participation this Saturday morning in Mediouna, in the seventh stop of the "Path of Achievements" program in the Casablanca-Settat region, organized by the National Rally of Independents party with the presence of over 3,500 participants, that reforming the health sector represents a top priority for the government, implementing the high royal directives and responding to the suffering of citizens with the imbalances of the health system.
Aziz Akhannouch stated that King Mohammed VI had issued instructions to establish a new university hospital in the city of Casablanca in the coming years, a step that will strengthen the national health infrastructure and respond to the large demographic pressure the region is experiencing. He explained that the government recognizes the size of the challenges facing the sector and is working on deep structural reforms because health is "a matter of national dignity, and there is no dignity without health," as he put it.
The Head of Government affirmed that the citizen's dignity begins with guaranteeing their right to access fair and quality health services, highlighting that the government works "day and night" to raise the level of services to what befits the aspirations of Moroccans.
Aziz Akhannouch noted that the reform is taking place on two parallel levels: responding to the immediate needs of citizens and health professionals, and at the same time building a strong future system for future generations.
In connection with the draft finance law for the year 2026, Aziz Akhannouch stressed that it clearly embodies the royal vision aimed at strengthening the pillars of the social state, as it includes unprecedented increases in the budgets of essential sectors such as health and education. He considered that this project aims to accelerate the dynamics of "the rising Morocco," strengthen territorial development, and enhance direct social support mechanisms.
He added that the executive branch has taken a series of measures to protect the purchasing power of citizens, including stabilizing the prices of basic materials, supporting transport professionals, and continuing to support the National Office of Electricity and Water, stressing that these decisions come "so that the citizen is not affected in his pocket," which makes the 2026 finance law a social law par excellence.
He concluded that the government is continuing to consolidate structural reforms aimed at building a fair and effective health system, and establishing the foundations of a cohesive social state that does not leave any citizen outside the path of development.
