The United States Department of Defense announces its intention to provide Morocco with “HIMARS” rocket-launched missile systems

Morocco continues to modernize its military arsenal by diversifying and activating its strategic partnerships with several major nations, including the United States, with which the kingdom maintains deep historical relations on the political and military levels.
Immediately after the end of the African Lion exercises, considered by the United States as one of its largest and most important military initiatives in the world, the United States Department of Defense announced its intention to provide Morocco with the latest products of its long-range missiles.
In this regard, the US Department of Defense stated that, in collaboration with Lockheed Martin, it had decided to begin the production and supply to the Kingdom of Morocco of highly advanced missiles of the “ATACMS” type, used and deployed in the “HIMARS” destructive rocket launchers.
Under the signed agreement, the Moroccan army will receive batches of “ATACMS” missiles as well as “HIMARS” rocket launcher systems, equipment available in only a few countries in the world.
The “ATACMS” missiles, guided by modern technologies, are among the deadliest in the world, operating in ground-to-ground systems and mainly directed through rocket launcher systems, including the HIMARS system, also approved by the United States for sale to Morocco.
