The police elements in the Tangier security directorate, in close coordination with the services of the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, managed, on the evening of Wednesday, November 19, to arrest six people with criminal records, on suspicion of their connection to a network active in the possession and trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances.
The first two suspects were apprehended in the act of promoting, before the ongoing investigations led to the arrest of four other suspects in different neighborhoods of the city of Tangier, on suspicion of their participation in the same criminal activity.
The search operations resulted in the seizure of 4423 drug tablets of various types, 65 grams of cocaine, in addition to 700 grams of hashish. A motorcycle and a light car, suspected of being used to facilitate trafficking operations, were also seized, as well as a sum of money believed to be from the proceeds of these criminal activities.
The detainees have been placed in custody, within the framework of the judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor's office, in order to identify the other potential accomplices and reveal all the circumstances related to this case.
