Moroccan Sahara: Malawi reiterates its support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom and the Autonomy Initiative as the one and only credible and realistic solution

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Malawi, Ms. Nancy Tembo, reaffirmed, Monday in Rabat, her country’s support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco.
This position was expressed in the joint press release made public following the meeting held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad, Mr. Nasser Bourita, and his Malawian counterpart.
Lilongwe, it is specified in this press release, supports the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco and supports the efforts of the United Nations as an exclusive framework to achieve a realistic, practical and lasting political solution to the dispute over the Sahara. .
Malawi also reaffirms its constant support for the Autonomy Initiative, presented by the Kingdom of Morocco, as the one and only credible and realistic solution for the resolution of this dispute.
On an official visit to Morocco from December 17 to 21 for the inauguration of her country’s embassy in Rabat and the operationalization of its consulate general in Laâyoune, the head of Malawian diplomacy announced that she will visit the provinces of the South, an opportunity to observe the economic and social growth as well as the political and democratic dynamics that this region is experiencing.
This visit will also be an opportunity to explore the progress made in the implementation of the New Development Model for the Southern provinces, launched in 2015 by His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
