HIBAPRESS – Ahmed Al-Musaed
On Thursday, November 20th, the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Reintegration of Prisoners distributed professional equipment and tools to seven former prisoners in the Figuig province, with the aim of launching income-generating projects.
This initiative comes within the framework of the Foundation's efforts to enhance the socio-economic integration of former inmates, as well as in the context of activating a partnership agreement between the Foundation and the National Initiative for Human Development, with a total value of 300,000 dirhams, of which more than 250,000 dirhams were allocated to finance these projects. The agreement aims to support small businesses and encourage income-generating activities, ensuring the reintegration of this group into the economic and social fabric. The handover of these projects, which varied between service and craft activities, took place in the presence of the province's governor, Mr. Nour Eddine Ouaabou, along with a number of local officials, where their suitability to the requirements of the local job market was taken into account in their selection. The distributed projects include a tailoring workshop, two projects to establish cafes, three initiatives to provide construction materials and supplies, in addition to a project specializing in the preparation of sweets. It is worth mentioning that the total number of beneficiaries of these projects at the level of Figuig province has reached 47 beneficiaries so far, in a step that confirms the commitment of various stakeholders to supporting the effective and sustainable integration of this group within society.
