HIBAPRESS – By A. Mahyawi
Abdelkrim Ghanami, the governor of Taounate province, today, Tuesday, November 25, 2025, made a field visit to the Taounate Regional Hospital for Multiple Specialties, as part of strengthening the policy of proximity and activating the communication strategy adopted by the regional authorities, as well as his continuous support for the health sector and his encouragement of social and solidarity initiatives.
During this visit, which he was accompanied by the heads of the regional security services and local authorities, the governor gave the official launch of the specialized surgical medical convoy in the treatment of cataracts "glaucoma" and nail surgery, which was organized during the period from November 25 to 28, 2025, on the initiative of the Regional Association to Support Kidney Failure Patients and Health Affairs in Taounate, and in partnership with the Regional Delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, and with the support of the Regional Committee for Human Development. The governor conducted an inspection tour inside the various facilities of the hospital that host the convoy's activities, where he reviewed the working conditions and the progress of surgical operations. The Regional Health Delegate and the head of the organizing association also provided him with detailed explanations about the intervention program and the services provided to patients. This convoy, which is supervised by a specialized medical team that includes two specialist doctors supported by a nursing, technical, and administrative team of 12 members, is conducting surgical operations for the benefit of 35 patients in its first phase, with interventions continuing during some days of December 2025 to reach a total of 105 beneficiaries. This operation was preceded by organizational and logistical preparations, including initial medical examinations for the beneficiaries, and the preparation of the operating room for eye surgery and equipping it with the necessary equipment to ensure the implementation of the interventions in professional and safe conditions. This health and humanitarian initiative falls within the efforts made to reduce waiting times for eye patients at the regional hospital, reduce the spread of cataracts and combat blindness, as well as bring medical services closer to the residents of mountainous and remote areas, especially vulnerable groups. It also comes in full harmony with the philosophy and vision of the National Initiative for Human Development aimed at strengthening the values of solidarity, reducing manifestations of fragility, and improving the quality of life of citizens, in harmony with the high royal directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect him.
