As part of strengthening the approach of proximity policy and consolidating the new concept of authority, the Governor of Taza Province, Rachid Benchekhi, launched a series of communication meetings with local authorities in the various districts of the province. These meetings were dedicated to discussing local management issues and reviewing the problems associated with the management of public affairs, in full harmony with the royal directives aimed at serving the interests of citizens and improving the quality of public facilities.

In parallel with this communication dynamic, the governor of the province paid an inspection visit on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, to the construction and equipment site of the proximity hospital in the Taha community, as part of monitoring the development projects that the region is witnessing. During this visit, the governor was briefed on the progress of the works and the technical conditions related to the implementation of this vital health project. The project extends over an area of four hectares, with a capacity of 45 beds, and includes modern medical facilities including the emergency department, surgery, maternity, intensive care, and the mother and child ward, in addition to laboratories and advanced technical equipment. The financial envelope allocated for its completion amounts to approximately 153 million dirhams, funded in partnership between the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and the Council of the Fez-Meknes region as part of the regional development program (2020-2022) within the framework of reducing social deficit and territorial disparities. The percentage of completed works has reached approximately 40%. This project aims to upgrade the health services provided to the population of the province, alleviate pressure on other hospitals, and ensure optimal care for medical and emergency cases, as well as improve health indicators in general. During the visit, the team supervising the project provided a set of technical explanations about the components of the site and the stages of completion, and the constraints that hinder the normal progress of the works were also addressed, with the proposal of practical solutions within the framework of a participatory approach between the various stakeholders to ensure the acceleration of the pace of completion and respect for the deadlines.
