Zelija Azri, the head of the women's organization of the Rally of Independents in the Eastern region, confirmed that the dynamism experienced by the National Rally of Independents party since Aziz Akhannouch took over its presidency has had a clear impact on the positioning of women within the party and in society, expressing the gratitude of the women of the Eastern region for this dynamism, which she described as fundamental in the path of trust.
Azri explained, during her speech in the presence of the Head of Government and the head of the party and a number of leaders and elected officials, during the 11th station of "Path of Achievements" in the Eastern region, that she participated in nine national forums from Dakhla to the Eastern region, and contributed to the digital survey launched by the party within the framework of the path of trust, considering it an important station to express the views of Moroccans, in which more than 100,000 citizens participated.
The head of the women's organization of the Rally of Independents highlighted that the path of trust produced three main points, the first of which is equality, which the party does not limit to equality between the sexes only, but rather in providing opportunities for all segments of society, including women, youth, people with special needs, children with disabilities, and the elderly. She also stopped at the second point related to responsibility, considering that rights are matched by duties, and that diligence and hard work are a collective responsibility within the party.
Regarding the third point, Azri stressed the importance of social cohesion and building the foundations of the social state, highlighting that the Moroccan family is at the heart of this project, and that women form the backbone of the family, given their role in upbringing and socialization. She affirmed her gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to the National Rally of Independents party, and to the government, for making the social state a priority.
Azri touched upon a number of programs that concern girls, including pioneering schools, communal schools, and sports schools, considering them projects that respond to the problems produced by the path of trust, especially the departure of about 300,000 children from school, stressing that the party has taken responsibility in this vital sector, without neglecting the infrastructure and frameworks.
She also recalled the organizational stage that followed the election of Aziz Akhannouch as president of the party on October 29, 2016, pointing to the collective work on the party's documents before the sixth national conference, and highlighting that the internal system allocated 21 pages out of 50 to the youth and women's sectors, which is unprecedented in the party's history, and established a strong organizational structure.
The head of the women's organization of the Rally of Independents presented figures on the representation of women within the party, where she pointed out the presence of 2696 elected women, 21 parliamentarians in the House of Representatives and the House of Councilors, and 20 women heads of communes, in addition to a woman head of a region and a head of the Association of Regions of Morocco, and two women in the position of mayor in both Casablanca and Rabat.
The speaker affirmed that involving women in political work is an essential condition for achieving sustainable development, renewing the support of the women's organization of the Rally of Independents in the Eastern region for the party president and for the path of achievements, and confirming that the organization works nationally, regionally, and locally in harmony, within a vision based on work, participation, and responsibility.
