The proceedings of the International Forum on Sports, organized under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI, opened today, Thursday, at the headquarters of the House of Representatives.
This forum, which is organized within the framework of the thematic group in charge of evaluating the 2008-2020 National Sports Strategy, under the slogan "Towards a National Strategy for the Advancement of Sports", will constitute a space for dialogue and a platform for collective thinking on the possible entrances to continue developing national sports policies and consecrating them as a fundamental pillar for human development and social and economic integration. The opening session of the forum was distinguished by the speeches of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Al-Alami, the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Mohamed Sadiki, the President of the Moroccan National Olympic Committee, Fayçal Laraichi, the Vice-President of the International Olympic Committee, Nawal El Moutawakel, the President of the Thematic Group in charge of evaluating the National Sports Strategy, Abdelrahim Chahid, the Director of the Regional Office of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for the Maghreb region, Charaf Ahmid, and the representative of the Morocco 2030 Foundation, Jalal Aynouch. This meeting aims to deepen the public discussion on the reality of national sports and to anticipate ways to develop it, by developing a common vision based on the participatory approach, while recalling the best international practices to support Morocco's trends in developing its sports system. It also aims to identify the status of the sports system by exchanging views, ideas and approaches between the various actors and interveners, as well as to learn about good international practices and successful experiences in the sports field, especially at the level of infrastructure and the valorization of human resources. Members of the government and parliament, representatives of national and international institutions, universities, clubs and sports associations will participate in this event, in addition to a group of experts, professors, media professionals and actors in the Moroccan and foreign sports field. Four workshops will also be organized during the forum to discuss four main axes: "Promoting Sports and Sports Practice", "Governance and Sports Funding", "Sports Training and Supervision", as well as "Sports Media".
