HIBAPRESS – (Omar Razzini: Barcelona Office)
Yesterday, the Tarragona region in northeastern Spain witnessed a tragic incident, the death of a Moroccan migrant found murdered inside a forest, in a case still shrouded in mystery.
According to available data, the victim was working yesterday morning with a number of workers collecting grass from inside the forest. In the evening, he did not return to the car that was designated to transport them, which raised the concern of the supervisor of the group and prompted him to return with others to search for him. During the combing operation, the body of the Moroccan migrant was found, where it was found that he had passed away after being hit by a gunshot, which left a state of shock and sadness among his colleagues and everyone who was informed of the details of the accident. Preliminary data suggests that the victim may have been shot, possibly resulting from a sniping operation, especially since the area is known for the activity of hunters, pending the outcome of the official investigations. The competent Spanish authorities opened, yesterday, an urgent investigation to reveal the circumstances of the incident and determine responsibilities, without an official statement confirming the nature of the accident or its exact causes so far. This incident sheds light again on the dangers of working inside forests, especially in areas that witness hunting activities, and the challenges associated with this regarding the safety of workers, especially migrants.
