Lhassan Essadi, Secretary of State in charge of Traditional Industry, Social and Solidarity Economy, clarified during his intervention in the Council of Advisors that the Secretariat of State in charge of Traditional Industry, Social and Solidarity Economy will organize the ninth session of the National Week of Traditional Industry under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI, and within the framework of implementing the government's strategic orientations aimed at developing the sector and enhancing its national and international influence. This session coincides with the Kingdom's hosting of the 2025 African Cup of Nations, in an initiative that aims to connect the Moroccan traditional industry with major continental and international events.

The session will be organized in two integrated stages, to enhance the presence of the Moroccan traditional product and consolidate its position as an economic lever and a basic component of national cultural identity.
First Stage: Concurrent with the 2025 African Cup of Nations
This stage extends between December 21, 2025 and January 18, 2026, and its events will be hosted by the cities that will host the African Cup of Nations matches, namely: Rabat, Casablanca, Tangier, Fez, Marrakech and Agadir. The events include exhibitions of traditional industry within the spaces designated for fans (Fan Zones), in addition to a number of public spaces with high attraction, to ensure the proximity of the traditional product to the national and international public.

This stage will witness the participation of about 300 Moroccan traditional craftsmen and craftswomen, in addition to industries and craftsmen representing the participating African countries, which reflects the African dimension of the event and enhances cultural and craft exchange between different countries. The events target the African and international public, global press platforms, Moroccan fans, local and foreign tourists, as well as influencers, to expand the circle of introducing and promoting the Moroccan traditional industry on a wider scale.

This stage seeks to connect the traditional industry with major events in the Kingdom, preserve tangible and intangible heritage, organize live shows of various crafts, present artistic performances to highlight the richness of the Moroccan intangible heritage, organize recreational activities that include artistic and musical entertainment, fashion shows for the Moroccan kaftan, shows of authentic Moroccan cooking arts, and participatory workshops open to the public.
Second Stage: After the African Cup of Nations
This stage is implemented between February 9 and 15, 2026, and focuses on strengthening the professional and international dimension of the National Week of Traditional Industry. The events include organizing an international forum that brings together global actors in the sector, including companies, designers, interior designers, influencers, journalists and specialized experts, in addition to organizing an international professional exhibition that allows Moroccan traditional craftsmen to communicate directly with global buyers and open new horizons for marketing and export.

This session reflects an integrated vision that aims to appreciate the Moroccan traditional product, enhance its competitiveness, and consolidate its position as a cultural and economic bridge that connects Morocco with its African depth and its international environment.
