The Regional Delegation of Health and Social Protection in Essaouira categorically denied the reports circulating about the death of 4 people in the intensive care unit as a result of the collapse of its ceiling, confirming that the news is incorrect.
The delegation clarified in a statement that no ceiling collapse occurred, and no deaths related to an accidental incident in the hospital were recorded. The statement added that the intensive care unit was evacuated as a precaution after cracks were detected in one of its walls, where patients were transferred to a new temporary department equipped with all health standards and necessary medical devices. It also confirmed that a specialized ministerial committee conducted a field visit and took the necessary measures to repair the cracks as soon as possible. The delegation expressed its regret over the spread of this false news, which caused public concern, calling for accuracy and the need to obtain information from official sources.
