Following the warning bulletin issued by the General Directorate of Meteorology, and within the framework of field mobilization to face the exceptional climate conditions in the mountainous areas of the Tawrirt province, the Dabdo municipality hosted on Tuesday, January 6th, the meeting of the expanded regional security committee, chaired by Badr Bousseif, the governor of the province, in the presence of heads of security services, local authorities, and heads of concerned decentralized services. This was done in the context of monitoring the situation and coordinating proactive intervention operations to address the cold wave and snow and mitigate its negative impact on the population during the current winter season.
This meeting falls within the framework of the regional authority's keenness to enhance field vigilance, ensure rapid intervention in emergency situations, secure the continuity of traffic, break the isolation of the rural population, and provide food supplies, in addition to ensuring intervention to rescue residents in critical and emergency situations such as pregnant women, and ensure their medical accompaniment in cases that require it. Regarding the schooling of students, the governor stressed the closure of educational institutions located in areas where their routes and access roads pose a danger to the movement of students, temporarily and as a precaution, in order to ensure their safety and the safety of all those working in educational institutions. In this context, and with the aim of field assessment of the conditions of children's schooling, the governor visited the Abu Anan Al-Marini Preparatory School in the center of the Zawi command – Dabdo district, where he reviewed the situation of the institution and the measures taken to address the current weather fluctuations, and also communicated with the administrative and educational staff regarding the constraints related to transportation and climatic conditions. This field visit comes within the framework of the proactive approach to address climate fluctuations, which is based on permanent vigilance, field intervention, and close coordination between various departments, in order to ensure the safety of the population and guarantee the normal operation of public facilities, especially in the areas most exposed to the repercussions of the cold wave.
