HIBAPRESS – Ahmed Al-Musa'id
Following the snowfall that some provinces under the jurisdiction of the Oriental region experienced, and the resulting difficulties in traffic movement across a number of road axes, the regional rescue center mechanisms affiliated with the Oriental Region Council, which are supervised by the Regional Development Company, intervened to remove the accumulated snow on the roads, in both the province of Berkane and the prefecture of Oujda-Angad.
The intervention units have started their operations in the field, using trucks and specialized snow removal equipment, where they were able to reopen a number of road axes that experienced a temporary interruption, and ensure the return of traffic to normal for the benefit of road users.
These interventions included, in particular, the Ahlu Angad community and the road leading to Touissit and the Ain El Mou and Tinissane area, within the framework of activating the alert and preparedness mechanism, as there is a sustainability unit working around the clock for immediate intervention when any emergency is recorded.
The Oriental Region Council confirms its full readiness to intervene with all available logistical means, across the various prefectures and provinces of the region to alleviate the effects of rainfall and snowfall, and to ensure the safety of users of the road network and the continuity of movement.
