Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman for the Russian presidency, confirmed that the current generation of politicians in power in Europe is unable to resist the firmness of US President Donald Trump.
Peskov told Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin from VGTRK channel: "The methods used by US President Donald Trump are not entirely consistent with our approach towards a multipolar world. Trump, in the end, prefers a decisive approach to solve everything." He added: "Trump, in the end, is a supporter of subjugation solutions… He says that the solution is by force, and those who submit will continue to do so." The Kremlin spokesman stressed that "the most important thing is that we don't do that." He pointed out that the world is still changing today, which is reflected in particular in the actions and reactions of European countries. Peskov affirmed that "all these changes are most likely the product of double standards and hypocrisy that have dominated Europe for decades. Unfortunately, they are also the product of a bad generation of politicians who are currently taking power in Europe." He added: "They are unable to resist Trump's firmness." He pointed out that the US President's publication of his correspondence with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron sparked widespread anger in Europe. But when Macron did the same after his conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, no one showed any displeasure. He continued: "Trump is a seasoned politician, who builds his approach on business principles and strict and decisive business practices. He defends his personal interests, and of course, above all, the interests of his country." (RT/TASS)
