HIBAPRESS – Ait Melloul
Last weekend, the Tamrased neighborhood in the Ait Melloul community witnessed an incident that almost turned into a real tragedy after a child in his early years fell into an open sewer in the middle of the neighborhood.
According to local data, the child was playing near the place before he lost his balance and suddenly fell inside the sewer, which caused a state of panic among the residents who rushed to the scene. Fortunately, the incident did not pass without a heroic intervention, as one of the women, who was at the scene, initiated the rescue of the child and quickly pulled him out of the sewer, in a scene that left a great relief among those present, after the little one survived certain harm. The same sources indicated that the child did not suffer any significant injuries, but the accident brought to the forefront the problem of open and unsecured sewers, which lack covers or warning signs, making them a constant source of danger, especially for children. The incident sparked widespread resentment among the residents of the neighborhood, who demanded that the concerned authorities intervene urgently to close the open sewers and secure the public space, to avoid the recurrence of such accidents, which may have serious consequences in the future.
