The Moroccan ambassador to France, Samira Sitaile, confirmed on Tuesday evening in Paris that Morocco pursues a diplomacy based on “pragmatism”, “clarity of commitments”, and “the strength of long-term partnerships”.
Sitaile highlighted, during a seminar hosted by the HEC Paris business school, that “Morocco works to ensure that its positions and commitments are of the highest degree of clarity, which is one of the keys to the success of its diplomacy”. The ambassador stressed that the Kingdom derives its strength from a diplomacy led by the insightful vision of King Mohammed VI, which gives Morocco the status of a respected country whose positions are listened to within the international community. In recalling the historical foundations of the Moroccan state and the validity of its political and institutional choices, Sitaile explained that Morocco, thanks to the royal vision, succeeded in making major strategic decisions, including the return to the African Union in 2017, in a move that aimed at the same time to “defend the interests of the Kingdom” and “make one of the strongest voices of the African continent heard on the international stage”. She added that since this historical turning point, Morocco has continued to achieve successive diplomatic gains, by consolidating its traditional alliances and building new partnerships. In the presence of a significant audience including students, graduates of the institution, and those interested in geopolitical affairs, Sitaile also highlighted the importance of the identity dimension in the Kingdom's radiance, stressing the plural and open nature of Moroccan identity, which Moroccans of the world carry abroad as “true ambassadors of this cultural richness”. She explained that this Amazigh, Hassani, Andalusian, African and Hebrew diversity, constitutes a specificity and a source of pride for all Moroccans, during this meeting organized on the initiative of the HEC group, in partnership with the Kingdom's embassy in Paris. On the economic level, the ambassador stressed that the economic dimension remains associated with political and diplomatic work, highlighting the pivotal role played by the embassy and the network of consulates in introducing Morocco to investors and facilitating investment decisions. Regarding the Kingdom's organization of the 2025 African Cup of Nations, Sitaile considered that Morocco "came out of it stronger on several levels", highlighting the organizational, economic and media success of this continental event. In addition to the quantitative indicators related to growth, job opportunities, tourist flows, and the infrastructure that has been completed, she stressed a fundamental and permanent gain represented by "the unity of the Moroccan people", which was strengthened more than ever on the occasion of this prominent continental event.
