HIBAPRESS – A. Mahyawi
The Al-Assam area, specifically the vicinity of the Al-Assam Hotel on the national road, under the jurisdiction of the 12th administrative annex, witnessed an urgent field intervention this Tuesday morning, led by Mr. Abd Elhamid El Mazid, the Governor of the Kenitra Province, following the flooding of the area due to heavy rainfall that the city experienced.
The Governor of the Province was accompanied by the city's Pasha and the Wali of Security, along with elements of the Civil Protection and communal services, and officials from the regional multi-service company, where the extent of the damage was assessed in the field and the necessary emergency measures were taken. During this intervention, the Governor gave immediate instructions to expedite water pumping operations and secure the hotel's surroundings and the national road, with the mobilization of various interveners to ensure the safety of citizens and limit potential material losses. This intervention comes in the context of an exceptional weather situation experienced by the city of Kenitra, which witnessed a full night of heavy rain accompanied by strong thunderstorms and active winds, leading to a rise in water levels in a number of low-lying areas, and necessitating the intervention of the competent authorities to secure the situation and protect lives and property.
