A driver of a light vehicle miraculously survived a serious accident today, Wednesday, following a large soil collapse near Boumab Ziz at the level of the Igjdarne neighborhood in Al Hoceima province, due to the heavy rainfall the region is experiencing.
According to information from the scene, the collapse occurred suddenly, leaving a wide erosion of soil and stones towards the road surface, which led to its complete blockage and made traffic impossible and dangerous, especially with the continuation of rain and the saturation of the soil with water.
The Intervention of Residents Saved the Driver
Eyewitnesses stated that the driver found himself in a critical situation at the moment of the collapse, before a number of residents close to the accident site quickly intervened, where their assistance helped in rescuing him and moving him away from the danger zone without any injuries being recorded.
Calls for Intervention and Securing the Road
The incident left a state of concern among road users, especially since the area knows from time to time collapses and soil erosion during periods of heavy rainfall, which requires, according to followers, the intervention of the competent authorities in order to secure the road axis and remove the soil and stones, with taking preventive measures to avoid the recurrence of the accident.
Warning of the Dangers of Erosion
The accident coincided with unstable weather conditions that several areas in the province are experiencing, which increases the possibility of landslides and collapses due to the fragility of some slopes and their saturation with water. Citizens called on road users to exercise caution and avoid passing through the axes threatened by collapses, until the competent services intervene and reopen the road in safe conditions.
