The Bouachabel bridge witnessed a noticeable decrease in water levels on Wednesday evening, after the rise the river experienced earlier due to the heavy rainfall that affected the region.
According to field data, this decrease contributed to a gradual improvement in the situation on Road 501, which connects the village of Ba Mohamed and the Sebu Bridge towards the city of Fez, after the floods earlier caused disruption to traffic and raised concerns for road users. Despite the receding water, local sources confirmed that the situation still requires vigilance and caution, especially with the ongoing weather fluctuations and the possibility of a return of the rising water level at any moment, urging drivers to avoid risk-taking and respect the instructions of the authorities and intervening teams. In the same context, this incident revived the discussion about the need to strengthen preventive measures on the road sections adjacent to the valleys, by reinforcing barriers and providing signage and warnings, to ensure the safety of road users during periods of rain and floods. Citizens are expecting the water level to continue to decrease in the coming hours, allowing traffic to return to normal without risks.
