HIBAPRESS reported that the National Office for Food Safety (ONSSA) has announced that authorities have decided to urgently withdraw several batches of infant formula from the markets in Morocco, following an international notification indicating the possibility of contamination with bacteria that may produce a substance known as "cerolide," a substance that may pose a risk to the health of infants.
The withdrawal process affects some packages of two brands, Aptamil and Nursie, in sizes of 400 and 900 grams. In this regard, the office explained that it immediately initiated a series of precautionary measures, where the importing company was obliged to stop marketing these products, with the seizure of the quantities in the warehouses in preparation for their destruction, in the framework of protecting the health of children and ensuring the safety of food products in circulation. The same source indicated that identifying the products covered by the measure is possible through the batch number consisting of eight digits printed at the bottom or on the side of the box, as the numbers concerned begin with 2026 or 2027. The office called on parents to be cautious and not to use the batches concerned until their safety is confirmed.
