The Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity launched the proximity medical caravans program for the year 2026, by organizing a medical-surgical campaign for the benefit of the rural population of Taza province, during the period from March 13 to 15 in the city of Oued Amlil, located about 28 kilometers from Taza.

This solidarity initiative falls within the framework of efforts to enhance access to specialized health services for the benefit of groups residing in rural areas, primarily targeting the residents of the Oued Amlil commune and neighboring communes, especially Ghayatha al-Gharbia, Bab Bouidir, and Bni Frassen, with the aim of facilitating their access to specialized medical consultations and necessary surgical interventions. The medical services provided in the framework of this campaign include several specializations, including pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, heart and joint diseases, ophthalmology, kidney and urinary tract diseases, in addition to dermatology and dentistry. The campaign also includes surgical operations to remove cataracts, for the benefit of patients who were selected during the initial screening process that was organized in Taza on March 6 and 7. This humanitarian operation aims to receive about a thousand patients daily, with the programming of approximately 130 surgical operations to remove cataracts, in a step that will contribute to meeting an important part of the local population's needs for specialized treatment services. To ensure the smooth organization of the operation, various medical activities have been concentrated in a unified location in Oued Amlil, where two integrated paths have been adopted: the first is dedicated to multidisciplinary medical consultations, and the second is for surgical interventions, allowing services to be provided in organized, safe and effective conditions. The Foundation has mobilized mobile medical units equipped in the fields of ophthalmology, radiology, medical analysis, dentistry, and pharmacy, in addition to two surgical units provided by the Moroccan Medical Association for Solidarity. About one hundred people participate in the supervision of this campaign, including 33 specialized doctors, including 11 surgeons, 10 general practitioners, in addition to 35 nurses and technicians, in addition to the Foundation's staff. This medical campaign is organized in partnership with the local authorities, the Hassan II University Hospital Center in Fez, the Regional Delegation of Health in Taza, the Higher Institute of Nursing Professions and Health Technologies in Taza, as well as the Moroccan Medical Association for Solidarity. In this context, the governor of Taza province, Rachid Benchikhi, on Friday, March 13, 2026, made a field visit to the various campaign facilities and medical specialization wings, where he reviewed the progress of health services provided to patients and listened to explanations provided by the supervising medical staff about the organizational conditions and objectives of this humanitarian initiative. This campaign comes within a continuous program of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity aimed at enhancing access to specialized health care, especially for the vulnerable groups in rural areas. In 2025, the Foundation organized six medical-surgical campaigns in a number of provinces, including Zagora, Tan-Tan, Berkane, Taounate, Ifrane and Smara, where these initiatives enabled hundreds of surgical operations to be performed and thousands of medical services to be provided for the benefit of thousands of beneficiaries. During the same year, the Foundation also supported the organization of two multidisciplinary medical caravans in the provinces of Tetouan and Rabat, which were implemented by medical partner associations, and resulted in the provision of thousands of health services for the benefit of a significant number of beneficiaries. Through these continuous solidarity initiatives, the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity continues its efforts aimed at bringing health services closer to vulnerable groups, contributing to improving the living conditions of the rural population and promoting the right of access to treatment.
