HIBAPRESS – Rabat
Bank Al-Maghrib stated that the inflation level in the Kingdom has recorded a decrease in the recent period, stabilizing at low levels. This is a result of the improvement in the supply of some food items and the decline in fuel prices, which contributed to easing pressure on prices.
However, the central bank warned that this trend may not continue in the medium term, pointing out that the disappearance of these factors, along with the expected increase in oil prices within the central scenario, and especially because of the repercussions of the recent war, may lead to a gradual acceleration in the pace of inflation, while remaining at moderate levels. Regarding the forecasts, Bank Al-Maghrib clarified that the inflation rate may remain almost stable during the year 2026 at around 0.8 percent, before rising to 1.4 percent in 2027, indicating a relative stability in price development despite the challenges associated with the international situation.
