HIBAPRESS – A. Mhayawi
This Tuesday morning, the residents of the Douar of Oulad Srouur, belonging to the commune of Ain Chkaf in the Moulay Yacoub province, organized a protest to denounce the deteriorating living conditions and the absence of the minimum of basic services.
The protesters raised slogans demanding urgent intervention to address a number of problems that plague their daily lives, foremost among which are the weak electricity and drinking water services, in addition to the deterioration of the state of the infrastructure, especially the roads that they described as dilapidated, which increases the suffering of the residents and deepens their isolation.
A number of participants in the protest expressed their dissatisfaction with what they considered "ignoring" by the communal council, holding the head of the Ain Chkaf commune responsible for the situation, and confirming that their demands remained unanswered despite their repetition.
In contrast, the residents addressed an appeal to the governor of the province for urgent intervention to assess the situation of the Douar, and to find practical solutions to the problems raised, expressing their hope for a positive interaction that would put an end to their suffering.
This protest comes in the context of increasing social protests in a number of rural areas, which demand the improvement of living conditions and the promotion of spatial justice, by providing basic services and the necessary infrastructure.
