The Attorney General at the Casablanca Court of Appeal announced on Tuesday the closure of the procedure related to the death of a person who was the subject of a judicial investigation, after his fall from the fourth floor at the headquarters of the National Brigade of Judicial Police, due to the absence of a criminal element.
A statement from the Public Prosecution explained that the in-depth investigations, which were assigned to the Casablanca Provincial Judicial Police to ensure neutrality and independence, included listening to the police officers in charge of the investigation, conducting precise field inspections, in addition to reviewing surveillance cameras. The investigation results confirmed that the person in question threw himself from the window of an office on the fourth floor, which was documented by camera recordings, where he sustained serious injuries that later led to his death in the hospital. The medical autopsy report, which was conducted by a tripartite committee of specialized doctors, also concluded that the death was due to complications from multiple bruises and fractures, including the skull, facial bones, ribs, and thigh, along with subarachnoid hemorrhage, injuries that match the fall from a height. Laboratory analyzes of blood samples, stomach contents, and urine showed their absence of any unnatural chemical or biological substances, while scientific expertise confirmed the presence of a single genetic pattern belonging to the deceased at the scene of the incident. Based on all of these data, the Public Prosecution decided to close the file, due to the lack of the elements of the crime.
