Police elements in the Marrakech security directorate managed to arrest a 45-year-old French citizen who was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued against him by the judicial authorities in France.
The process of checking the concerned individual in the database of the International Criminal Police Organization "Interpol" showed that he was wanted internationally under a red notice, issued at the request of the National Central Bureau in Paris, on suspicion of involvement in a case related to forming a criminal gang, trafficking cocaine, and possessing unlicensed weapons and ammunition. The suspected foreigner was subjected to extradition procedures in implementation of the instructions of the competent public prosecutor's office, while the National Central Bureau of Interpol Rabat, affiliated with the General Directorate of National Security, was tasked with notifying its counterpart in France of the arrest on the extradition procedure. The arrest of the suspect comes in the context of the commitment of the Moroccan security services to activate international security cooperation mechanisms, especially the pursuit and arrest of persons wanted internationally in cross-border crime cases.
