Police services in the Tangier Security Directorate have opened a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution, in the early hours of this Monday, March 30th, to determine all the criminal acts attributed to two individuals who attempted to rob a police officer under threat of a bladed weapon.
According to preliminary information obtained up to this stage of the investigation, a person with numerous prior criminal records for aggravated robbery, along with another person, intercepted a police officer while he was returning to his residence after the end of his night shift, where they threatened him with two knives for the purpose of violent robbery, which forced him to use his service weapon. The immediate intervention of a security patrol enabled the arrest of the suspects after their attempt to flee, and the seizure of the two knives they had in their possession. They were transferred to the hospital to receive first aid pending their referral to the judicial investigations ordered by the Public Prosecution, to reveal all the circumstances and details of this case.
