The spokesman for the Iranian military headquarters "Khatam al-Anbiya" announced today, Saturday, that Iraq is exempt from any restrictions imposed by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz, noting that these measures are limited to countries described as "hostile".
The spokesman explained, in a statement addressed to the Iraqi people, that Iran affirms its respect for Iraq's sovereignty, praising what he described as the steadfastness of the Iraqi people in the face of "American hegemony." He added that Iraq's supportive stances towards Iran have not gone unappreciated, but rather contributed to strengthening the resolve to continue what he described as the "path of struggle." The statement stressed that Iraq, in light of these positions, may have a historic opportunity to end the American presence on its lands, achieve sustainable security, and stop what it considered "the depletion of its resources".
