The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, confirmed in a speech this Tuesday morning at the GITEX Africa exhibition in Marrakech that the government places among its strategic priorities the support of the emerging companies system, with a clear ambition to remove the various obstacles that hinder their growth, and enable them to play a pivotal role in the national digital economy.
The Head of Government explained that this approach falls within the framework of implementing the national strategy "Morocco Digital 2030", which considers the digital economy as a fundamental lever for creating value and job opportunities, stressing that the government has moved from disparate approaches to an integrated vision that aims to support emerging companies in their various stages of development. In this context, Akhannouch pointed out that the new strategy is based on establishing an integrated system to support emerging companies, including providing various financing mechanisms, such as financial support to ensure the continuity of companies, honorary loans, and initial launch financing, in addition to supporting incubators and accompanying investment fundraising operations in growth stages. He also highlighted that these efforts have been translated practically through major institutional partnerships, bringing together a number of public actors, with the aim of mobilizing significant financial resources directed towards investing in innovation, where a number of management companies were selected, which intend to inject investments of up to 2.5 billion dirhams for the benefit of Moroccan emerging companies. The Head of Government stressed that the bet is not limited to financing only, but also includes preparing a suitable business environment, capable of stimulating innovation and facilitating the access of emerging companies to markets, which enables the emergence of national actors capable of competing regionally and internationally. According to Akhannouch, this approach reflects a clear political will to make Morocco a fertile ground for the growth of digital companies, by removing structural constraints and providing the conditions for takeoff, which enhances the dynamism of the national economy and keeps pace with the rapid digital transformations.
