HIBAPRESS – A. Mahyaoui
Within the framework of implementing the high royal directives of King Mohammed VI aimed at promoting the tourism sector, as well as activating the provisions of the National Charter for Administrative Decentralization and bringing administration closer to citizens, an annex was established in the city of Taza, affiliated with the Regional Delegation for Tourism in Fez, after an absence of more than four decades.
This achievement comes as a culmination of the continuous efforts made by the Governor of Taza Province, Rachid Benchikh, in order to establish an administrative representation concerned with managing tourism affairs in the province, and to keep pace with various initiatives aimed at valuing its natural and cultural assets. This annex aims to play a pivotal role as an official interlocutor with public authorities, actors, and partners in the tourism field, where it will oversee the preparation of an accurate diagnosis of tourism potential, a comprehensive inventory of paths and landmarks, in addition to supporting and guiding professionals, and supporting owners of institutions and tourism accommodations, and making them aware of the importance of improving the quality of services. This administrative structure also seeks to pave the way for the establishment of a provincial tourism council in Taza, similar to the Regional Tourism Council in Fez, which enhances local governance and contributes to coordinating the efforts of various stakeholders in the sector. Taza Province is considered one of the promising tourist destinations thanks to the diversity of its natural and historical assets, as it embraces prominent landmarks such as the Friouato Cave, the Grand Mosque of Taza, the Twisted Tower, and the Bastion Fort, in addition to the Tazeka National Park, and stunning natural spaces such as Ain Al-Hamra and Lake Tamedda, as well as the Ait Ismail waterfalls. This initiative will constitute a basic lever for the advancement of the tourism sector in the province, achieving sustainable development, and making Taza a preferred destination for Moroccan and foreign tourists, in addition to enhancing its attractiveness as a promising hub for tourism investment.
