HIBAPRESS – Abdelatif Baraka
In a well-executed security operation reflecting high field vigilance, elements of the Regional Brigade of Judicial Police of Ouarzazate, based on precise data provided by the General Directorate for the Monitoring of National Territory, were able to dismantle the activity of a network suspected of involvement in drug trafficking, after the arrest of a utility vehicle and a motorcycle and the targeting of four people, including a member of the auxiliary forces in the province of Ouazzane.
This qualitative operation came in the Agdz area of Zagora province, following precise field investigations that enabled tracking the movements of the suspects and accurately determining their location, before they were intervened and arrested in the act. The search resulted in the seizure of significant quantities of hashish and "keef" powder that were intended for promotion, in addition to financial amounts that are likely to be from the proceeds of this illegal activity, as well as the logistical means used in the transport and distribution of these materials. The detainees have been subjected to judicial investigation measures under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution, with a view to revealing all the possible extensions of this criminal network, and identifying the rest of the alleged perpetrators. This operation falls within the context of the intensive security efforts aimed at drying up the sources of drug trafficking, and enhancing the sense of security, as the security services continue to tighten the noose on various forms of crime, while emphasizing the importance of citizens' involvement in reporting suspicious activities, considering this a basic pillar in supporting security work and protecting society.
