Marrakech – Mohamed Daher
The judicial barrier elements stationed at the entrance to the city of Marrakech (Casablanca road) succeeded in thwarting an attempt to promote hashish, following a thorough search operation targeting a passenger bus that was connecting the economic capital and the Red City.
The routine control procedures carried out by the security services resulted in the seizure of about five sheets of hashish that were carefully hidden among the luggage of one of the passengers. The suspect was arrested immediately after the prohibited substances were found, with the seized quantity confiscated for investigation. Following the legal procedures in effect, the detainee was placed under custody by order of the competent Public Prosecution, which ordered the opening of an in-depth judicial investigation to determine the source and final destination of these drugs, as well as identifying potential presumed partners in this criminal operation. This operation comes in the context of the heightened security vigilance imposed by the control points inside and at the entrances to the city of Marrakech, to dry up the sources of drug trafficking and address various types of cross-city crime.
