HIBAPRESS – Rabat
The Left Alliance, composed of the Federation of the Democratic Left and the Unified Socialist Party, condemned the Spanish Monarch's visit to the occupied cities of Ceuta and Mellila on October 13th and 14th, considering it a provocative step aimed at consolidating the legitimacy of the Spanish occupation of the Moroccan cities.
The alliance, in a statement issued today, Wednesday, expressed its strong condemnation of this visit, which it described as a defiance of international laws and norms. It also expressed its surprise at what it considered a silent official response from the Moroccan government towards this step.
The Left Alliance affirmed, in the same context, its commitment to continuing the struggle for the liberation of all parts of the national territory and the completion of the Kingdom's territorial unity, emphasizing that this demand, according to its position, will not stop under any pressure or circumstance.
The alliance also linked the future of cooperation and partnership between Morocco and European Union countries, foremost among them Spain, to the necessity of respecting Moroccan sovereignty and the demands it described as legitimate, chief among them the regaining of territories considered occupied by Morocco and the completion of its territorial unity.
