After its wide distribution, the “Algerian Coral” chocolate was banned from entering France due to its dangers

French authorities have banned Algerian-origin “Al-Marjan” products, which are chocolate-related products, for reasons that international media have described as the health risks they pose to consumers.
After its wide distribution in the French markets and the high demand for its acquisition due to its low price, the voices of some experts specialized in health safety began to ask the French authorities to act and take action due to some components of the “Corail” chocolate from Algeria, which may pose risks to the safety and health of consumers due to non-compliance with the health conditions imposed in the countries of the European Union.
In this regard, the French authorities have prevented the entry into the European market of a shipment of Algerian chocolate “Marjan”, indicating that this decision was taken due to “the incompatibility of the product with European Union regulations”.
French authorities seized containers filled with the Algerian product of dubious safety in the port of Marseille, relying on European Union Regulation No. 207/2021, which regulates products authorized to be marketed on the European market, as it became clear that Algeria is not among the countries authorized to export dairy products or eggs and their derivatives, which are components used in the manufacture of “Corail” chocolate, and Algeria is classified in the black box in the export of these materials due to its lack of health licenses related to consumer safety.
