HIBAPRESS – Rabat
Fatima Zahra Mansouri announced a new legal step, which involves filing lawsuits against a website and a number of journalists associated with it, against the backdrop of the continued publication of media materials that include, according to her statement, accusations and allegations that affect her reputation and the reputation of members of her family, in relation to a real estate file in the Taseltant area.
Mansouri stated that this file had previously been addressed in the media, where official clarifications were issued in her name and in the name of her family, categorically denying the accuracy of all the data circulated, confirming that it is not based on any legal or factual basis. She added that she preferred at first not to resort to the judicial path, and chose to suffice with clarification and leave room for calm, but the continued republication of the same content, as she put it, prompted her, along with members of her family, to make the decision to resort to the judiciary and pursue those responsible for publishing it. The statement indicated that any compensation that may be issued by a judicial ruling in this file will be directed to a charitable organization, in a step aimed at confirming that the goal is not related to any personal gains, but rather to protect reputation and legal rights. Mansouri also stressed that freedom of expression is constitutionally guaranteed, but it remains linked to respecting the controls of the law and the ethics of the journalistic profession, and not slipping towards publishing unproven allegations that may affect the reputation of individuals. In a related context, questions were raised about the motives for the continued media coverage of the file despite the issuance of previous clarifications, calling for the need to investigate accuracy and objectivity in dealing with such issues, in a way that guarantees credibility and preserves the rights of all parties. The statement concluded by emphasizing that resorting to the judiciary falls within the framework of protecting rights and preserving consideration, and leaving the last word to justice in this dispute.
