The Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra Regional Football League, in the city of Smara, has launched the first phase of its annual training program for referees in the region, as part of preparations for the start of the 2026-2027 sports season competitions.
The first day of this training camp included field physical tests under the supervision of cadres from the Regional Technical Directorate of Refereeing, with the aim of assessing the referees' physical readiness and their ability to keep pace with the demands of official matches during the upcoming football season.
This initiative is part of the annual program adopted by the league to develop the regional refereeing system, through continuous training and intensive practice, and to enhance the physical and technical efficiency of referees, thereby contributing to improving match management and ensuring the application of the rules governing competitions.
The activities of the first day were characterized by an atmosphere of discipline, responsibility, and competitiveness among referees and supervisors. Other training sessions will continue according to the established program, as a continuation of the necessary preparations before the start of regional competitions.
The Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra Regional Football League is relying on these periodic meetings to qualify local refereeing competencies, hone the skills of young talents, and strengthen the presence of the region's referees in various national competitions, which serves the development of regional football and contributes to the success of the 2026-2027 sports season.
